Ready For Redfish

Ready for Redfish- Larry, Jack and Larrys father Buddy fished Flamingo . We caught Sharks, Speckled Trout, Jacks, Ladyfish and other species. Jack fought a Stingray over a hundred pounds for twenty minutes before letting it go at the boat. That is when Larry caught this beautiful 27 inch keeper Redfish. We released it to fight another day.

Holy Mackerel Florida Fishing Charter in Flamingo

Holy Mackerel- With the winter months starting to change to Spring the mackerel are still here. Gus and his father Pedro have their own 27 foot Mako Boat where they go ocean fishing. They love fishing Flamingo and decided that they wanted to come home with some very tasty Florida Bay fish. We traveled from the Marina at Flamingo 20 miles around Sandy Key to Schooner Bank on the way to Long Key in the Florida Keys. We started chumming about 3 miles from the bank.

Wow before you know it we were in a mackeral frenzy. After boating about 15 mackerel and a dozen snappers, Gus decided to change from shrimp to Clark Spoons. We caught atleast another 8 on spoons. We headed back to the middle grounds on the way to Flamingo marina. The Trout bite was great. We caught 20 and released all but 5. A huge trout probably 8LBS and 30 inches smashed a top water Storm Chugbug. I thought it was a snook or a large Jack. When it got to the boat I tried for the net but it was too late he flipped over through the plug and said “Bye Bye”. In all of the years fishing Flamingo I have never seen a trout that big here. We called it a very successful trip and all of us will never forget the Monster Trout that got away.

Spring Fishing with Kids at Bass Pro

Spring Fishing with Kids at Bass Pro was great. Another successful SPRING FISHING CLASSIC was held this past weekend on March 5 & 6, 2011 at BASS PRO SHOPS in Dania Beach/Ft.Lauderdale, Florida. Informative free seminars were presented on freshwater fishing, fish filleting and frying, tarpon fishing, bass fishing, bottom fishing local South Florida wrecks, rigging ballyhoo, and even a free wildlife show with live animals. The weekend concluded with Captain Brian’s Kids Fishing with the Pros, a program that enables children to learn how to use a fishing rod and reel by casting into the water and experiencing firsthand the thrill of catching their first fish.

The success of this past weekend would not have been possible without the team effort and planning of Promotions under the direction of Diana Rodriguez and all the local Pro Staffers and fishing experts who contributed their knowledge and expertise for this great program. Each seminar was filled to capacity with fishermen eager to learn old and new techniques in order to CATCH MORE FISH. BASS PRO products, including hooks, lines, rods and reels, were demonstrated to give the angler choices in choosing the proper tackle for his catch. BASS PRO SHOPS provides a wonderful educational opportunity for the outdoorsman living in South Florida to expand his fishing prowess to CATCH MORE FISH!
